COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS | March 19, 2020 Update
March 19th, 2020
Dear Residents, Family, and Visitors,
We wanted to update you about our on-going efforts to protect our residents from COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Since this epidemic began, we have been updated almost daily regarding new precautions or restrictions that need to be put in place for senior living communities.
Below are the current procedures that we are being directed to follow from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Please keep in mind, there are no timeframes for the measures we are putting in place at this time. If, and when, we are provided with an anticipated date regarding our ability to return to normal operating procedures, we will notify you all.
We continue to monitor the CDC website on a daily basis and will update messaging, guidance and policies based on the latest information and recommendations.
Santa Marta is currently following the below practices. These practices apply to the entire campus:
- Visitors will not be permitted, with the exception of those in end-of-life situations, or when a visitor is essential for the care of a resident.
- The above visitors that are permitted to enter the facility will be required to complete a screening that will include answering a questionnaire and having their temperature taken.
- All essential Santa Marta staff members are required to complete a screening that includes answering a questionnaire and having their temperature taken.
Santa Marta is dedicated to helping residents communicate with their family and friends outside of the community as much as possible. We have worked to set up as many means of communication as possible such as phone calls and video conferencing. Please contact us here at Santa Marta is you need assistance in contacting your loved ones.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments, we encourage you to contact the Santa Marta Management team.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
The Santa Marta Team
