COVID-19 UPDATE | June 4, 2021

Friends and Family of Santa Marta,

As we enter the unofficial start of summer we are grateful for this week’s wonderful and warmer weather, affording all the opportunity to visit and gather for outdoor celebrations.  The best news of our past week is that we have our second required round of all healthcare resident and staff testing resulting in all negative tests!

For Healthcare (AL, MS, rehab/LTC)  Last Saturday, we were delighted to inform families and friends of our ability to expand HEALTHCARE visitation. Currently, no scheduling is necessary; however, each resident is limited to 2 visitors at a time (children under twelve may accompany adults), any time of day or evening, seven days per week.  Screening for any visitor to healthcare remains in effect and visits must be held in the resident’s room/apartment or may occur outside.  At this time, friend and family visitors may not gather in the common, activity, or dining rooms. Masks and kiosk badges must be worn by visitors at all times.  As another step toward getting back to our usual lives, we continue to expand our activity offerings across all levels of healthcare—including live musical performances and a more connected dining experience.  *Please contact us for policies regarding unvaccinated residents.

For Independent Living (IL)  Indoor visitations are permitted, as well as resident apartment visits as long as the resident is fully vaccinated. Full communal dining has resumed. All of our IL activities, including bus trips to the store, have resumed. Independent Living residents no longer need to use the kiosk when returning to the campus from an outing. Please use it when returning from out of state. Vaccinated residents no longer need to wear a mask when out of their apartments (except if visiting in healthcare). Visitors and vendors, as well as staff will continue to wear them.

As we progress to even more normal levels of living and activities, the care and well-being of everyone at Santa Marta will remain a top priority. We will continue to follow the guidance and counsel of local and state health authorities, and also maintain protocols / precautions of wearing masks, social distancing, and checking temperatures.

NOTE: We will report COVID-19 updates on this website and Facebook page if / when there are confirmed positive cases of a resident or team member, or if there are significant changes to visitation guidelines and activities schedules.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our leadership team at updates@santamartaretirement.com with any questions.

Thank you and God bless!
