COVID-19 UPDATE | MARCH 12, 2021

Friends and Family of Santa Marta,

As we anxiously await the blossoms of springtime, hope springs eternal at Santa Marta as we continue to experience progress in our dedicated efforts to protect the health and wellbeing of our residents and team members. We are pleased to announce that from our COVID-19 testing efforts this week, all results were negative. And currently, we have no positive cases at the community.

We are continuing indoor visitation in our health center. If you’re interested in scheduling a visit, please contact Admissions Director Riley Mason at 913-323-7175 between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Indoor visitations and some small group activities continue in Independent Living (IL) as usual.

As we maintain all necessary precautions, we are progressively adding two activities per week in the Healthcare neighborhood. The pool and the fitness center remain open for all IL residents. We are also excited to announce that beginning April 1, nearly all IL activities will be available to residents – including the long-awaited happy hour times!

As a reminder, safety protocols including masks, social distancing and no large gatherings will remain in place at Santa Marta for the foreseeable future despite the ongoing lifting of some restrictions. NOTE: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has delivered revised guidance to the states to assist in making revisions COVID-19 protocols and restrictions. Once we receive new guidance from the state, we will inform team members, residents and families of the changes occurring at Santa Marta.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our leadership team at updates@santamartaretirement.com with any questions. Our weekly updates will also be shared on our website and Facebook page.

Thank you and God bless,

Chet Surmaczewicz

Executive Director
