COVID-19 UPDATE | March 19, 2021

Friends and Family of Santa Marta,

We want to take a moment to provide a brief report on the progress we are making to keep our community healthy and safe. After another round of testing this week, we have more good news to share as all results were negative and we have no positive cases at Santa Marta.

We are so proud of our team members and residents who remain diligent and committed to taking responsible actions to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. It is great to witness the camaraderie and working together for the greater good of our community.

Indoor visitation procedures at our Health Center continue to evolve, including visits in a resident room as long as the resident is fully vaccinated. For a complete list of visitation protocols and/or to schedule a visit, please contact Admissions Director Riley Mason at 913-323-7175 between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday.  For Independent Living (IL), indoor visitations and some small group activities continue as usual, as well as resident apartment visits as long as the resident is fully vaccinated

Again, we could not be more excited to be able to welcome family and friends back into the community and into our residents’ homes.  While we recognize that these visits remain somewhat limited, we know this is another safe step in the direction of returning to a pre-COVID world.

Two activities are being added per week in the Healthcare neighborhood, and the pool and the fitness center remain open for all IL residents. And as a reminder, beginning April 1 nearly all IL activities will be available to residents.

Please remember that safety protocols including masks, social distancing and no large gatherings will remain in place at Santa Marta for the foreseeable future despite the ongoing lifting of some restrictions. Thank you for your help in supporting the safety and well-being of all of our residents, staff, and other visitors.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our leadership team at updates@www.santamartaretirement.com with any questions. Our weekly updates will also be shared on our website and Facebook page.

Thank you and God bless,

Chet Surmaczewicz

Executive Director
