"I have lived at Santa Marta for twelve years and I could not find a place where I could be happier. The residents are fun and the employees are thoughtful and kind."

Mary Duerst, Resident since 2008

“We were coming through here on our way to a football game and stopped and visited Santa Marta. And mostly, the rest is history. We visited several other communities here in the Kansas City area, but there is no comparison. You can’t get Santa Marta out of your mind once you’ve seen the rest of them – they don’t stack up. The best thing about Santa Marta is the people. I consider this to be my family.”

Bill Poehling, Resident since 2009

“When you go out and come back and always say, ‘Oh, I’m glad to be back at the apartment.’ You talk to all your friends here and they say the same thing. They go on a trip and say it’s always nice to come back home.”

Marie Weafer, Resident since 2014

“Marie had to pry me out of the house. I had a garden and flowers and birds and feeders. I was in, you know, wonderland, because it was a tour yard. And it was hard to give up, but as soon as I got in here, I didn’t even think about it.”

Col. Ret. Buck Weafer, Resident since 2014

"I cannot say enough good things about Santa Marta and we've just moved my mother in! First of all, Marsha and Kate were amazing help through the process of deciding on floor plans and timelines. Then they gave me the biggest gift in connecting me with Linda Scardino of Gentle Changes and C&C Relocation Services. Linda is a saint! She took my stress and anxiety, about moving my mother and making so many decisions about the move, down 1000% from the moment I spoke to her on the phone. Her ladies came and helped us not only pack but narrow down what we should and shouldn't take. And let me tell you as an Army brat who has moved around the world - these ladies are world class packers. Nothing broken, packed and unpacked in about 8 hours. And they run interference with family dynamics. They should all be certified counselors! The guys from C&C scraped the ice from the driveway at my mother’s house. They put shrink wrap on everything - not a scratch - and even wrapped the electrical cords. They moved furniture around in the apartment when we changed our minds about locations and even suggested locations to hide the flaws in some of the furniture. They were so patient with us! Both of those groups are worth every penny. They probably stopped me from having a complete meltdown and I cannot thank them enough!

I have to add that Santa Marta's maintenance team - especially Bobby - are outstanding! My mother's car died and he tried valiantly to jump start it multiple times in the parking garage last week. This week before the tow truck showed up he helped take apart the items under the hood that needed to be removed so that my husband and the tow driver could get it started. I cannot thank him enough."
